Scoring well in AP-TET

1. It has 150 Questions and you have 150 minutes to answer.  And its a computer based test.  So, speed is the first mantra.  You need to be fast in reading and answering the question.  Do not stop and think or ponder over one question.  You will loose out quality time.

2. There is no negative marking. Hence, try to answer all the questions. In case you are not aware of the answer, its better to skip question fast and return to it at the end of first reading.

3. This is most important take away for you.  You have to read fast- not stop at one question- and do complete reading of test paper atleast 2-3 times within the 150 minutes time you have with you.

4. In case there is set pattern to presentation of questions from particular subject, first try to cover those which are lengthy or which require good comprehension skills.  The ability to comprehend would lessen over time. So, focus on tough ones first and don't forget to move fast.

The above tips would help you to score well in AP-TET.  However, there are more tips that will help you to be in right state of mind to give this exam.

How to be in right mind-state?

1. Stop avoiding sleep a week or two before exam date

2. Avoid eating oily or junk food a week or two before exam date.

3. Try to give mock tests in a simulated environment, preferably as per the exam schedule and timings.

4. Wear comfortable clothes during the exam day.

5. Try not to read anything new in the last 2 weeks before exam.

6. Do not study on the exam day or do not attempt to revise on the exam day, you will be tired while giving exam which increases chances of error.

7. Try to use urinals/water as necessary, do not hestitate to ask for permission.

8. Reach exam centre before time, as usually there will be verification procedures.

9. Do take out printout of instructions also, and prepare a checklist of items necessary on the exam day including original IDs if necessary.

All the best !
